Small Business Fleet Underwriter

We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented leader to help us maintain our growing SMB automotive fleet leasing portfolio.

At Carlease, you will have the opportunity to help support the vehicle financing needs of our small to medium size business fleet customers. 

As a Fleet Underwriter, you will be responsible for the entire origination process from application to funding.  You will be accountable for reviewing and analyzing credit information as well as risk analysis on all lease requests.  S/he has credit authority within operation guidelines.  


  • Reviews and analyzes credit information as well as risk analysis on fleet lease requests
  • Identifies cross sell opportunities, prepares credit approval packages, annual reviews, renewals of credit, client credit proposals and coordination of document preparation and closings.
  • Works with other financial institution regulatory agencies to develop and implement the necessary examining, reporting, and monitoring of lending compliance requirements.
  • Meets monthly application and funding volume goals within assigned portfolio.
  • Makes suggestions to improve operations and documentation.
  • Acts as a resource for coworkers and employees from other units.
  • Follows up with dealers on pending contracts.
  • Assists in system enhancements.
  • Troubleshoots system defects.
  • Participates in special projects and tasks as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
  • 3-5 years prior experience in Financial Services industry with an emphasis on indirect lending
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills

  • Polished communication and writing skills
  • Strong consumer credit knowledge and basic advisory credit knowledge.

The Role

You will be responsible for spearheading ongoing and new development projects. You will build in a fast-paced environment to drive all aspects of the development phase - from planning through execution.

Required experience:

  • Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, Javascript: 3 years
  • Strong knowledge of the Laravel framework
  • Cross-Browser and Cross-Platform Front-end web development including HTML, JavaScript and CSS and latest technologies
  • Working with and integrating Web Services / External APIs
  • Experience working with Git

Technical Skills: 
An ideal candidate would also possess the following:

  • Experience accessing data from Elasticsearch endpoints
  • Experience with a Node.js application codebase
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM system
  • Working knowledge of Vue, using Vue-router and Vuex a plus
  • Mobile Application development in the iOS and Android platforms a plus


  • Working with a small, multi-functional team to create/advance our application stack
  • Assisting with project planning, scoping, and execution
  • Custom programming in web and mobile application development
  • Testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of existing development projects
  • Be a valuable technical resource for other team members (including non-technical)

Sales Development Representative

We have no storefront and partner with the best dealerships so our customers can get the right car, at the right rate, delivered straight to their home or office with zero hassle. You will gain experience interacting with clients of all levels, in a variety of industries, and across a broad geographical area.   • Qualify and respond to inbound web and phone inquiries regarding the Carleaseplatform
  • Prioritize leads, research prospects, and position relevant product features to solve business needs
  • Partner with our experienced Account Executives to help fill their pipeline and develop your skills
  • Achieve and exceed monthly quotas of qualified opportunities and closed business
  • Develop industry/product knowledge to move through leads more quickly
  • Conduct research to expand prospect lists using tools like LinkedIn Navigator, Salesloft, and others
  • Create a great first impression to our prospects and customers by providing them with a world class experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in sales, customer service, or other related fields
  • Unrelenting entrepreneurial spirit

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, related field OR equivalent experience
  • Prior BDC/Internet dealership sales experience a plus
  • Strong business acumen and problem solving skills
  • Familiarity with common dealership (or any) CRM systems a plus
